Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue

Nope, Kate wasn't getting married. She was practising at Bayford Meadows in the pouring rain. The something old was her rain suit, the something new was her Supertune engine, the something borrowed were the Mojo W5s on Jet rims from Ollie Hancock, and the something blue was her Lando Norris OTK chassis.
And what a fab day it was. Ollie, of Ollie Hancock Competition and usedotk, was kindly coaching Kate.

I usually get a bit of chill time when Kate's practising. I'll tweak and check the kart, and then sit and relax until the next session. But Ollie had me making change after change so that Kate could get the most from the kart. I had absolutely zero downtime, save for a few minutes in the van whilst I gobbled down my Bayfords lunchtime chicken burger. But by the end of the day Kate was 2½ seconds faster. Jet, needle height, engine temperature, rear axle width, front axle width, caster, rims, sprockets, tyre pressures, and Mychron were all tweaked to get the most out of the kart. There wasn't a moment when I wasn't making a kart tweak requested by Ollie. And it was amazing to see what difference the changes made. Ollie's knowledge of what is needed to get the best performance is second to none, and Kate's confidence in the kart was apparent as she consistently swooped round corners on three wheels. (Check out the video!)
Ollie said Kate had talent, and he was doing his best to unlock it. And Kate was loving it.
It seemed like a perfect marriage of coach, mechanic and driver, and I think all three of us are keen to go down the aisle again.
In the meantime, I just need to update my wedding-planner-style checklist of kart performance tweaks.

Fabulous. Sounds like you all had a great day
