Good Bottom

If you've been watching 'F1: The Academy' on Netflix you'd have spotted the likes of Bianca Bustamante preening herself in front of cameras in a photoshoot for Vogue. Very nice. Except she then went on to stall her car on the grid in the next F1 race. Very embarrassing.

So, social media and PR is fine, but, drivers need to focus most on driving.

Last weekend the staff at Griffith’s Motor Sport (GMS) told us that Kate had a good bottom. Great for social media and PR you’re thinking. But, this is not what you think. GMS worked their magic on two of our racing exhausts whilst they were doing our engine rebuilds, and one has a good bottom (perfect for power when accelerating out of corners), and one has a good mid (perfect for power when accelerating down the straight).

And we tried out Kate’s good mid last weekend at Lydd. And boy, she was flying. A PB lap time. And, she managed to bring the kart home with only a small repair bill. (If you’ve never been to Lydd, Lydd has a very short start-straight followed by a very tight chicane, and pretty much every race start produces casualties because 12 karts into a tight corner simply don’t go.)

So all credit to Kate and her good mid (and there was some amazingly confident driving too!).

If you want to see Kate's good bottom, come along to Buckmore this weekend when she'll be racing in the 3rd round of the Medway Valley Kart Club's Summer Championship. She'll have that good bottom exhaust attached to her GMS recently tuned engine, and she'll be pushing it to the limits up and down the slopes of Buckmore and over those unforgiving bumps.

She's hoping that having both a good bottom and a good mid will lead to some much-wanted PR (from the podium photos of course).

Here’s hoping for bottoms up at Buckmore then! 😉
