Golden Girl

A third day of riding means a third kit. And Kate chose her gold MotoLoko kit for today. A great idea for UK tracks, where the golden kit feels like it's glowing against England's green and pleasant land. But not such a great idea for the deserts of Spain, where Kate simply disappeared into the background. Thankfully, the white and yellow of her Husqvarna motorbike helped me pick her out on the track.

And what a track it was. There can't be many motocross tracks lined with palm trees. It wasn't me riding, but it must have felt surreal to be flying through the air past palm trees. And watching Kate effortlessly cruise over the tabletop jumps, felt like she was on some Arabian magic carpet.

It wasn't all magic though. The track was challenging, and one poor lad broke his leg on a double jump, and is waiting for the Spanish bone doctor as I type this post.

Everyone's getting tired, and tomorrow's rest day is very welcome. Mind you, forget the extended siesta, Kate, the Golden Girl, is off karting tomorrow. A week without karting wouldn't be a week, so Spanish Sodi RT8s with 390cc engines is Kate's rest day.
