Nope, this has nothing to do with the excellent talk we had on nutrition from Dean Fouache of Karting Athlete Development (www.kartingathletedevelopment.com). It simply means Kate hadn't had enough driving practice and wanted even more!

At the end of the day, Kate spotted it was raining outside, and wanted to get some more wet weather practice. So, after a whole load of comprehensive wet driving tips from Buckmore's Clinton Bell, Kate took to the track again, in the wet. And it was a joy to watch. I could just imagine Strauss's Blue Danube playing in the background whilst karters slid, skated and pirouetted around the track, and yet Kate simply drove. There were drivers fighting with their wheels (steering and kart) whilst Kate, following Clinton's amazing advice, tweaked the wheel once, and continued in a perfect straight line up the hill.

All hugely satisfying for Kate. And course, when we got home, we made a beeline for Sainsbury's to stock up on carb and protein bars, and electrolytes in preparation for Kate's 6-hour endurance race this Saturday. Thanks, Dean!
