I don't know if you remember the Generation Game TV show. Bruce Forsyth ("nice to see you, to see you nice") and then Larry Grayson ("shut that door") getting families to do things that looked easy but weren't.
Well, we had that yesterday with tyre changing. Now I change tyres a lot on Kate's Rotax (especially when we need new slicks for every race) and I'm always huffing and puffing with all manner of tools to get the Mojo D5s onto those OTK magnesium hubs. But yesterday, the amazing mechanic from the Buckmore Park workshop put a tyre on a wheel and took it off again in 12 seconds, wait for it, with his bare hands and absolutely no tools.
Then the lads and lasses on the driver development programme were given the challenge of doing the same in 90 seconds. None of them managed it!
Of course I had to try, and managed a respectable 43 seconds, getting a handshake from Clint from Buckmore. Yes, I do feel chuffed.
I wonder what Generation Game style challenges they'll all get today!
