Sports Scholarship for Kate Broadbent

Congratulations to Kate Broadbent. Kate’s been awarded a sports scholarship at Staffordshire University and a place in their High Performance Academy.

 

Kate’s started her first year at Staffordshire, studying for a business degree in visitor attraction and resort management (VARM). Ultimately Kate wants to set up her own motorsports facility (for karting and motocross) and the BA in VARM will give her the skills to do that.

 

Whilst studying though, she will carry on racing Senior Rotax karts for GMS Motorsport, and is looking to compete nationally and internationally in 2026.

 

Within the High Performance Academy, Kate will be on the Performance Athlete Scholarship Scheme (PASS), which gives her a bursary, 1 to 1 strength and conditioning coached sessions, 1 to 1 sports psychology sessions, nutrition advice, academic flexibility, and membership of British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) which give her free access to Staffordshire university’s sports centre and other university gyms around the country.

 

As a graduate of Buckmore Park’s Driver Development Programme, Kate recognises the importance of all aspects of training, and being in Staffordshire University’s High Performance Academy will give her the extra coaching she needs whilst she continues her racing career.
